Destruction of the Soul

Release Date: August 20th

Book Blurb:

“There is more at stake in Aedan’s war than any of you realize.”

Vivienne Drake is lost.

She’d let every one of her walls down, finally allowing others into her guarded circle, and all it brought her was pain and devastation. Now, out of fear and desperation, she’s turning to the one being she believes will be truthful with her; the only being that’s dared to give her anything resembling an honest answer--Linux, The Cruciatum.

The Daemonium is dangerous and mysterious, and offering Vivienne things that she’s been begging for. He offers her a chance at discovering what lies just beyond her reach. Though his motives remain far from clear, there is something within him that Vivienne is drawn to. And she wants nothing more than to believe in him, to believe in the things he tells her.

Together, they uncover details of Aedan’s plans, and discover what he intends to use his daughter for. Vivienne learns that she carries within her a destructive darkness, that if she allows, will consume her, and destroy the goodness she contains.

Fighting an endless battle against lies and deception, Vivienne must find the strength within herself to remain on a virtuous path. She’ll be forced to overcome pain and obstacles in order to discover the truth of just how deep the deceit runs within The Guild.

Can she remain above the darkness for the sake of Humanity and herself, or will she allow it to devour her light and destroy her soul?

Spotlight for Atlantis Voyage

AV Banner

Title: Atlantis Voyager: The Escape
Author: Kiz Jones
Book Description:
In book one of Atlantis Voyager: Alexa and her family have spent twelve years on Earth observing primitive cultures, collecting samples, and sending their findings back to their home world, Atlantia. As the end of their mission approaches and they prepare for their return to Atlantia, the unexpected happens. Earth is invaded by an old enemy. The research team must take drastic measures to ensure the safety of their families and the inhabitants of Earth. Along the way, Alexa finds herself torn between feelings for two men. Turning eighteen isn’t as easy as she thought it would be.

They all made their way back up to the bridge. Tim and Jason were with Tara, working on the navigation console. Chloe held Lissa in her lap, distracting her by playing with her little doll.
Alexa walked over to check on little Lissa. “Hey, little bit, you doing okay?”
The little girl nodded. Her hair bobbing. “I don’t like the t-boost. It makes me feel woozy.”
“Me too, kiddo.” Alexa patted her head comfortingly. She looked back up and found Korinna watching her closely. “Korinna? Are you okay?”
She nodded. “You care for one another. I am unused to that.”
Alexa slowly reached out her hand to pat the other girl’s shoulder. “I care about you too now. You are one of us, a part of our crew.”
“Leo!” Tim yelled out. Alexa watched Leo run over to the console where Tim was sitting. From the look on both Jason and Tim’s faces, they couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
“Are these the right coordinates?” Tim asked.
“No. Here, let me.” Leo leaned over and typed in a new set of coordinates. He stepped back as the mainframe computer reconfigured their designation.
Tim sighed. “Well, at least now we know where we are not. We are not anywhere near Atlantia.”
“Will we need to use the teleboost again to reach Atlantia?” Nik asked.
“Yes, but we can’t, at least, not right now. The navigation system is overworked. I won’t be able to start up the teleportation schematics until I have the exact coordinates. I suggest we make several small jumps instead of the larger ones. The large boosts are too much on us physically and too hard on the mainframe computer. Another big boost could fry the mainframe. Also, the larger boosts uses greater amounts of fuel. I will need some time to work out coordinates for the small jumps,” Leo explained.
“How much time?” Nik asked.
“I’ll need at least a couple of hours. Plan on an hour for the navigation system to regain full function and then another hour to configure the teleboost for the smaller jumps.”
“Do we know if the Tranzits followed us with this last jump like they did the first time?” Tara asked. “We won’t be able to tell until the mainframe is fully functioning again. The good news is, if they did follow us, their computer systems are most likely down just like ours are. They won’t be fully functioning for a while, ” Jason spoke up.
Leo nodded his agreement.
“Since nothing can be done for at least two hours, I suggest everyone go and get something to eat and rest,” Nik ordered.
“What about you?” Alexa asked.
“I will stay on the bridge to keep an eye out for the Tranzits, in case they did come through the last jump.”
Everyone headed to their apartments. It hadn’t been that long since they last ate, but the jumps took a big toll on their bodies. They were all hungry. Lissa was still scared and about to cry again. Tara was going to try to get her to take another nap after she ate something. Alexa tried to get Leo to come with her but he insisted on going back with the boys to their apartment. She didn’t want to interfere with them bonding together. They needed that. She realized for the first time that he was growing up. He was no longer her baby brother. She wanted him to be independent, but it meant that he would need her less and less. It was bittersweet. Apollo kept trying to get her attention. He probably wanted to talk about the kiss they had shared. She wasn’t ready yet. She was so confused. Nik had told her on the trading colony that he wasn’t interested in her, so she shouldn’t feel guilty for kissing Apollo. Besides, Apollo had been her first boyfriend. Their relationship preceded her and Nik’s whatever-it-was. They had a connection too. Her relationship with Nik had always been a push and pull. There were times that when she was around him, everything was great. Then he would do or say something to irritate her. She admired him. He was strong and intelligent. He commanded people around him easily. He reminded her a little of her father. That was a disturbing thought.

And now a few words from author, Kiz Jones.

Hi there,

My name is Kiz Jones. I’m a single mother living her dream of being an author.  I have been an avid reader since I was a kid and have been making up stories my whole life. I love all genres but my favorite is science fiction. I would start writing a story but would never finish it.  I never thought that I could do it.

In 2012 I decided to just TRY it. I was going to write a full story from beginning to end. I decided that if my friends liked it, then I would self-publish it. They did and the rest was history. I signed on with MCJ Warriors about six months later.

When I first started to write a year ago, I wrote about the kind of books that I would like to read. That led me to write Science Fiction. When I write, I feel the story flow through me. I have a sense of fulfillment and purpose that this was what I was born to do.

I find inspiration everywhere I go. I have nieces and nephews that remind of the characters that I create. I wrote Atlantis Voyager: The Escape for the kids in my family and my friend’s children. I wanted them to read a story where the kids were the action heroes.

When I write I have a movie playing in my head. I am seeing the action as I am writing it down. If Atlantis Voyager was made into a movie, I think the following actors would be fantastic as the three main characters. Grace Phipps as Alexa.  Kellan Lutz as Nik.  Alex Pettyfer as Apollo.

You can find my books anywhere at amazon, bookstrand, allromance, kobo, smashwords, jk publishing bookstore, itunes, and google.

About the Author:
Kiz Jones is now an author for MCJ Warriors. She attended college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has been a huge fan of both romance and science fiction novels since she was fourteen years old. Her favorite television shows growing up were Star Trek and Doctor Who. When not writing, she can usually be found curled up on the couch with a good book, working on her hobby of photography, or spending time with her son.

Date of Publication: July 15, 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Book Blurb:

During her senior year in high school, Maddie Burch promised herself not to ever fall for a cute guy – or any guy – again. Two years later, her promise is still intact, and she’s determined to make it through college without falling victim to another creep. She has her job, school and The Guys Are Props Club to keep her mind and hormones in check.

The club was founded by Jessica, Maddie’s best friend. It is a sisterhood of girls who have fallen prey to heartless jerks and who have vowed to turn the tables. Once a semester, Jessica requires members to “do onto others as they’ve done unto you.” Setting the example, Jessica’s next play is Sebastian Capello, a theater major with heartthrob looks and a flair for Latin dance, whose heart she plans to break the way hers was once broken.

What the friends don’t know is that Sebastian is different. Despite his perfect looks and popularity, he’s not a jerk. He doesn’t play games to get his way. Instead, he keeps it real and goes after what he wants with honest intentions. And what he wants is not a bombshell like Jessica, but a down-to-earth girl like Maddie – even if it causes a riff in the girl’s friendship. Even if it means getting Maddie to break her personal vow.

Wolf Dream Cover Reveal

Wolf Dream by M.R. Polish
The Reaping Spell has weakened her greatest enemy, but now Esmerelda faces a different threat - one that haunts her dreams. To finally defeat Nicholas and end his madness for good, she must travel back to Spain with the help of her powerful friends.

What she doesn’t know is that in his weakness, Nicholas made a deal with the Death Keeper – his soul in exchange for Esmerelda’s life. Worse, she soon learns that the ones she trusted most have become part of her nightmares. The only one she can trust is the man who holds her heart, and together they must fight Nicholas to the death.

Fighting to stay awake so Nicholas can’t find her in sleep, Esmerelda prepares for the battle that will finish this war. One of them must die for her nightmares to end - unless the Death Keeper, with plans of his own for Esmerelda’s soul, gets to her first.

Teaser from Wolf Dream:
“Esmerelda, I need your help!” Julie yelled from the front of the plane.
That worried me even more than dying. She never needed—let alone wanted—my help. I ran as fast as I could, jumping over the dead bodies to get to the cockpit.
She looked at me with wide eyes. “He won’t wake up. I don’t know what’s wrong.”
Jarak was there first, grabbing Julie and pulling her out of the way. “Move, Es, I can’t let this happen, not right now. It’s not right.”
I didn’t understand what he meant but moved anyway. Ian was right behind me. “Camilla and Lauren went to take care of the other three breeds and Ailaina went to find a first aid kit to help Lauren.”
I nodded but it all felt so surreal. Was this really happening?
“Damn it, Julie, why’d you have to put them to sleep?” Ian asked.
“Don’t yell at me. I did what I had to do.”
Jarak tried every combination to open the cockpit door but nothing worked. Ian pushed past me to Jarak. “Move over, I got this.” He slammed into the door with his shoulder, creating a small but otherwise useless dent. Turbulence jerked the plane as Ian hit it again.
“Hey, man, I don’t see what you’re trying to do. This door is made to withhold attacks,” Jarak said as he returned to the door.
“Well, wise one, the plane is going down because smarty pants over there put the pilot to sleep and can’t wake the pilot. We,” he used his finger to point at all of us in a circle, “are the only ones awake. So, we need to get in there.”
Hearing Ian confirm my fear of why the plane was descending so fast scared me even more. “Let him try, Jarak.”
“Fine, but what are you gonna do once you get in there? None of us know how to fly a plane.”
“I’ll figure that out, right now we just need to open this door.” Ian plowed into the door again.
“That won’t work,” Camilla said as she neared the cockpit.
Jarak raised his hands in surrender. “I’ve already tried to tell him.”
“Here, let me.” She walked up to the door with a set of keys.
Ian moved back over by me, rubbing his shoulder. “Well, now you show up.”

Author Bio:

M.R. Polish was born in Idaho, a long, long, long, maybe not that long time ago.... Writing has always been there for her. Growing up, her mind was filled with stories, some she shared and others she filed away to write down later in life. It wasn't until 2011 that she decided to publish her stories for everyone to enjoy. Her first award and when writing became more than just an idea was in the 5th grade. She won the scary story contest for the school newspaper. It is one story she still has tucked away for memories. Her teacher told her she could be anything she wanted and that she had a talant for writing, being creative and drawing people into her stories. M.R. took that to heart and continued to write, although mostly in secret until recent years.
Now you can find her enjoying life with her family - wrangling her four kids, setting traps in the house with toys for unsuspecting victims (aka, her husband) and writing down all her crazy and fun stories.
