Witch Hunger Olivia for T.A. Kunz

Witch Hunter Olivia

By T.A. Kunz

Blurb:

In the town of Piedmont Pointe, where paranormal is the norm, a girl can easily get herself in over her head with a single wrong move. Unfortunately for Olivia Adams, she’s about to make several.

Starting over is never easy, but it seemed like the only option to Olivia. The decision to turn her back on the Guild of Witch Hunters, the very group she devoted her entire life to, was one of the hardest things she ever did. It meant leaving her family, her friends, and her old identity behind forever. Coming to terms with what caused her to abandon her duties in the first place was even harder.

While trying to lay low and stay off the Guild’s radar, Olivia finds herself thrust back into her old ways after unknowingly interrupting an assassination hit on a powerful witch. What follows is the last thing she ever thought she’d agree to do—protect the very thing she was groomed to hunt.

To complicate things even further, Olivia begins to develop feelings for a tattoo artist who also happens to be half warlock, and no matter how hard she tries to fight it, she can’t resist her inescapable draw to him. Olivia’s forbidden relationship isn’t her only issue though, because once the mystery behind the assassination attempt starts to unravel, she’s forced to choose sides when the loyalties still tied to her past life are tested again.

So much for the idea of a fresh start.

Excerpt

He takes my hands in his before standing up. I feel him pull up slightly, and before I know it, I’m on my feet. My legs wobble and I stumble into his arms. Our faces float near one another and I feel his mouth break into a grin next to my forehead. I pan my eyes up to meet his, and he steadies me again by wrapping his arms underneath mine so I have a chance to catch my balance.

“Whoa, easy.” His breathy whisper has me looking up at him again. “Maybe you should sit back down.”

“No, I’m okay. Really,” I reply, finally able to stand on my own without having to brace myself with the assistance of his strong, muscular arms.

I find myself unable to take my gaze away from his baby blues, and we stand here staring at each other. It’s like I’m seeing Heath for the first time. My heart pounds within my chest, and my palms begin to moisten—both classic signs of attraction. We’re standing here chest to chest, and what I initially thought was my own heartbeat hammering furiously in my ears is actually Heath’s.

He begins to say something, but I interrupt him by bringing my hands up to his razor-sharp jawline and draw his mouth down to mine. The first contact is soft and smooth, like Heath’s lips. He seems hesitant, so I pull back to look at him.

“Something wrong?” I inquire, feeling confused by his apprehension.

“Not at all. It’s just I told myself the next time we kissed, it’d happen after an actual date.”

“Oh … well, what do you call tonight?”

“The strangest date I've ever been on?” he replies before leaning down and locking his lips with mine again.

Warmth caresses my mouth and works its way up through my cheeks as Heath’s tongue gently maneuvers along with the kiss. His hands travel along my arms before transitioning to the small of my back, leaving trails of heat in their wake. He deepens the kiss while tugging me closer to him. My arms wrap around his neck and prop up on his broad shoulders. I feel like I've been set ablaze as Heath’s hands get antsy and begin searching my body for another resting place.

I gently guide him toward his father’s tattoo chair while maintaining our secure lip lock. When we bump into the chair, Heath laughs softly into my mouth, which only makes me kiss him harder. He eases himself down onto the chair and allows me to straddle his lap, one leg on either side of his hips. His hands run up and down my back underneath my blouse, and the intense heat almost becomes too much to handle. It feels like the sun is beating down on my skin, leaving me slightly burned, but in the best way possible.

Heath hooks his hands around my hips and slides me closer to him as his mouth trails from the crux between my neck and shoulder across my collarbone. He ends at the plunging neckline of my blouse and runs his lips over the entire area before continuing onto the other side. A moan of pleasure seeps out from me when I can’t hold it back any longer. The girth in his pants grows as he grinds into me while never removing his lips from my skin. It inches down his pant leg and rubs against my inner thigh, making me want to strip down and have him inside me right now. The more time that passes, the more it becomes a yearning or desire than just a want to be closer.

Excerpt:

I glance in, but the box is dark inside all of the tissue paper. My hands retrieve the first item. “Buckeyes!” I exclaim.
“I can see why she’s your best friend.” Dean leans on one elbow, watching me explore the contents one by one.
I reach in, continuing to pull out items—a black hair scarf with cherries, a pair of earrings from one of my favorite local jewelry designers in Cincinnati, Abbi Glines’s newest steamy romance. My cheeks go hot as Dean sees the cover, lifting his eyebrows.
“Well, I think that’s it,” I say, lifting the box, the sound of something shifting inside catching my attention. “Oh, there’s something else.” I reach in, and as I do, I can feel Dean’s eyes locked on me. I feel something long and cool slip into my hand. Locking my fingers around it, I let the box fall away. Instantly, I see Dean straighten up, a half-cocked grin on his face.
Much to my horror, I look down to see a pink rubber penis-shaped device in my hand. I freeze, but my cheeks are on fire. All I can think about is the different ways I am going to torture Monica before I kill her.
“I can explain,” I begin. I’ll tell him she’s crazy—like actually certifiable.
He’s still grinning at me as he gives me a slight nod. He closes the gap between us even more.
“You know, I can help with that,” he offers, and I can’t help but wonder if he’s serious, or perhaps maybe I’m wishing.
“You think I’m that easy?” I hit the ball squarely back to him. I consider licking my lips, but worry that may be over the top. I’m looking directly at him, and damn, he’s incredible.
“A guy can hope.” He pauses, playfully lifting an eyebrow. “Can’t he?” I grin. In fact, I can’t do anything but grin. He moves closer, and I glance down, realizing I’m still holding the device. My breath hitches, but he still moves closer. He’s facing me, never moving those gorgeous blue eyes away from me. He slides his arm around my waist, and as he presses himself against me, I’m sure I can feel an erection. This surprises me, and my hand releases the dildo, which falls to the floor with a thud.
“What’s wrong? Can’t contain your excitement around me?” he whispers, his breath warm on my neck, just below my ear. My mouth is watering, my heartbeat quickens, and my head is now spinning. I pull back, the distance giving me a slight bit of clarity. The idea of this kind of pleasure is tempting. The bulge in his jeans tells me he is interested.
In an attempt to casually conceal the pink rubber shaft, I use the toe of my platform sandals to kick it under a nearby chair. Dean cocks a brow, his face shifts, and he laughs softly.
“What?” I shrug innocently.
“Did you just kick a dick under a chair?” He’s still laughing.
“Watch it, or I might make a habit of it.”
“Ouch,” he hisses, then winces, grabbing himself as if he were imagining the attack.
My eyes dart past his shoulder, where Storm is coming up the stairs. She has on her headphones, staring at the face of her phone. I nod my head at Dean, indicating we’re no longer alone. I shift, moving to walk past him. He grabs my hip, pulling me into his grasp.
“We’ll continue this later,” he promises. He takes my hand and leads me past Storm and out of the bus without a word. I wonder if she can tell what had been transpiring from the look on my face.
As we move around the side of the bus, I feel his hand shift to the small of my back. It’s like he knows all the places to touch me to drive me absolutely insane.

Growing up, Darcy knew that life would be filled with challenges and tough decisions, but none so difficult as the one that would alter her future forever. When she survives the conversion and shows how truly strong she is, everyone thinks that the worst is behind them. It’s time to get back to normal - or their new normal - and live happily ever after.
But danger still lurks within the shadows - both in Woodside Hollow, the supernatural community, and within Darcy. Even though she looks fine, she seems “altered” to those closest to her, something beyond the expected consequences of her dual nature. With reports of dark rituals and blood sacrifices being performed, the Council has their hands filled trying to solve that mystery, leaving Mason scrambling to find out what’s wrong with his mate.
Will the imbalance warring within Darcy eventually settle, or will her decision to become part vampire-part werewolf lead to a SAVAGE POSSESSION?

“You appear and then vanish like a ghost. You aren’t injured from venomous snake bites. You aren’t killed by wayward, incredibly sharp arrows.” Then, I reiterated, “I am the only one who can see you…how is any of this possible?”
“You do pay attention,” he said, sounding almost regretful, though I didn’t understand why.
“Yes, now will you tell me how you are capable of all that?”
He paused, still looking at me, as he collected his thoughts. The muscles throughout his body visibly flexed, tensing as he prepared his answer. “I have certain…gifts…that not many others can claim…gifts of speed, healing, and regeneration, to name a few.”
He paused, waiting for my reaction.
“Don’t worry so much,” I said, teasingly. “I’m not going to run screaming for the door.”
We quietly laughed together for a brief moment.  When I felt like he was comfortable again, I asked my next question.
“So, where did you get these gifts? Did your parents take some sort of special drug?”
“Not exactly. I can’t answer that, as much as I know you’d like me to. Just suffice, Magdalene, to know that without these gifts, you wouldn’t be here right now.”

Interview with Vivian Winslow

Hello readers,

I have a very interesting interview with the author of the Gilded Lily series, Vivian Winslow. But first, a little about the series itself.

Book One

Book Blurb:
After catching her fiancé Jack in bed with her sister the day before her wedding, New York socialite Lily Baron escapes to Rio, her honeymoon destination—alone. There, Marcelo, the dark and sexy hotel masseur, releases a heated passion Lily had never experienced with Jack. When Lily meets handsome and powerful Brazillionaire Gustavo de Lima, she can hardly resist him. There’s just one problem. He’s married. In this uber-sensual city, will Lily’s reluctance to be with a married man, in light of her own fiancé’s betrayal, give way to her burning desire for Gustavo?

Book Two

Book Blurb:
After a romantic getaway with her Brazillionaire lover Gustavo de Lima is interrupted by his wife, New York socialite Lily Baron rushes back to New York upon hearing the news that her father has fallen ill. Now, Lily must take the helm of the Baron Media empire and protect the company from a hostile takeover attempt. But will Lily herself be able to resist the unwanted suitor?

Book Three

Book Blurb:
Weary from battling a hostile takeover attempt of her family’s company, Lily seeks a distraction in Todd, an erstwhile bartender with a large trust fund and magical mouth. Meanwhile, a connection seems to be developing between Lily and Alejandro, a wealthy and gorgeous Cuban-American, whose brother, Rodrigo, is dating Lily’s twin sister, Dahlia. When Alejandro unexpectedly rebuffs Lily one night, she is deeply dismayed.  But, after seeing Alejandro’s picture with a gorgeous Latina model in the gossip pages, Lily thinks it wasn’t just a misunderstanding. When the sisters and brothers reunite in Aspen for a ski weekend, will Lily’s heart remain frozen or will the fire between her and Alejandro rekindle and melt away the ice?

Interview with Vivian Winslow:

Could you please tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a stay-at-home mom with two elementary school-aged children and a husband, living in New York City. My husband’s job took us all around the world for most of the last decade. New York is where we met, so it seems appropriate that we ended up back here after all these years.
What was the inspiration behind The Gilded Flower series?
I’ve written a few novels but never in the romance genre. A friend suggested that I try my hand at it since it’s her preferred style of writing to read. She and I hashed out a storyline one afternoon, and Gilded Lily was born. It was such a fun book to write. The women are smart, capable and strong, but love men and enjoy relationships—and lots of sex—with them as well. I didn’t anticipate it turning into a series, but the story lent itself to that so the subsequent books just unfolded from there. What’s really fun about the Lily series is that many of the cities she visits are places I’ve lived or visited. It’s great to be able to incorporate my experiences into these books.

Do you prefer to write hot and spicy stories?

I do. There’s an incredible freedom in writing erotic romance. It allows me to take my characters to their limits and not gloss over what is a natural and very feminine experience.
What is the most rewarding aspect of becoming an author?
That I can set my own hours. As any parent knows, raising children is a demanding job. I get to indulge in my passion for writing whenever I find the opportunity.

Are you planning on expanding your horizons by exploring other genres?

Most certainly. Young Adult and women’s fiction are what I’ve written before. But it’s difficult to think about those right now. I’m too into The Gilded Flower series and seeing where these women will go next.
What can readers expect from Vivian in the next five years?
Definitely an extension of The Gilded Flower series. I’m open to any fan requests as to which characters’ stories they would like to read about. Perhaps it’s Rosa, the sister of Dahlia’s love interest, or maybe one of the male characters from the book, like Todd. I have a feeling there are a few readers who would like to get more of his story.
Also, I have a backlog of story ideas from my friends who want erotic stories written for and/or about them. One is about a rock star. That should be fun!

Are there any plans to start another series?

If I do, I’m not sure if it will be in romance. Most likely Young Adult. But it’s hard to stay away from sex right now. J
If so, will it have erotic elements also?
No erotic in Young Adult, but it will probably have some sex. I think it’s a crucial aspect in anyone’s coming-of-age story.

Would you ever consider co-writing with another author? If so, what kind of story would you like to venture in?

Not at this time. It’s not easy to find someone whose style is perfectly compatible. That said, I am considering writing with a man in the future. I think it would be great for more men to write their perspectives in the erotic romance genre. Currently, writing a man’s point of view is more women assuming or projecting what they think a man should think or do in a situation.

How do you start every manuscript?

With a vague of idea of the plot. I think about the character first and foremost and what her conflict will be. Once I’ve connected with it, then the story begins to unfold. Novellas are very different from writing novels. I enjoy it because it forces me to let go of the crutches and repetition that tends to happen in novels. You’re forced to take the characters for who they are, drop into the story, so-to-speak and watch what goes from there; and it happens rapidly. There’s incredible satisfaction in that.

Do you organize each of your ideas?

Not really. I’ve been encouraged to outline my thoughts, but I’m terrible at it. It never works because I end up going in different directions.
Is there a specific regimen you follow through in order to begin writing?
Absolutely. Once I get my kids off to school, I come home, take care of some things around the house, then I sit down and write. Usually I talk to my friend and we talk about where the book may go that day. She’d probably tell you that the majority of the time it rarely goes the way we discuss it. But our talks help me frame the general story and character development. It’s the latter that I find most important. In this genre, especially, characters make the stories. They are who the reader will connect with most.

When is your next work due to be released?

Book 3 in The Gilded Flower series, Tiger Lily, is due to be released July 20th. I’m very excited about this one. I have to admit it’s my favorite of the three Lily stories. I came to appreciate how much she grew through the books and was happy to figure out her happily-ever-after. And to all the readers, I didn’t figure it out until mid-way through the book. I’m truly sorry if it wasn’t the one you expected. Once the series is complete, I’ll share my insights a bit more. It seems my characters end up with people I don’t even anticipate.
At the end of Tiger Lily is a glimpse of the next book in the series entitled, Blue Dahlia, which is about Lily’s twin sister, Dahlia, who is a lot more impulsive and full of angst. While Lily’s series follows her sexual awakening, Dahlia’s series will be more about her emotional awakening. But, of course, there will be hot men and even hotter sex. That’s a promise! I’m planning the release of the first book in the Dahlia series for early October.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

I love going to the movies by myself. Of course it’s fun with a friend. But there’s something incredibly therapeutic about sitting in a dark room by myself, completely engrossed in a story that I find blissful.
Where can the readers find more information about you?
They can connect with me through various social media. I will try to get better about updating and posting to Facebook and Goodreads more regularly. I just write whenever I have free time.
