What happens when secrets aren’t enough to protect you?
I moved to Texas for a fresh start, at least that’s what I tell people. No one gets the whole truth. Hell, I don’t let anyone close enough to even ask.
Until him.
Jax is a born heart-breaker with a killer smile. When I get injured, I try to keep him at crutch’s length, but he’s always there. He helps me with my little sister Sophie as he sweeps me off my feet, even though I do my best to resist his charm. But he can’t fool me. No one does anything without expecting something in return. And I don’t want to owe anyone, especially Jax.
Besides, I’m not the only one hiding something from my past. If Jax isn’t who he says he is, it’ll endanger more than my heart. I learned long ago not to trust anyone, and he’s no exception. Not that it matters…Jax would never understand the SECRETS I KEEP.

10 Of My Favorite
Books
by Tanya
Eby
This mish mash list is a collection of the books that have
had the deepest effect on my emotionally, but also the deepest influence on me
as a writer. The characters of these pieces are outsiders, all of them with
some kind of sadness to them. They’re also extraordinary in some way, whether
by their abilities as artists or because of their capacity for great love. I
also appreciate humor in writing and while most of these pieces are sad in some
way, there’s plenty of humor and lightness too.
1)
Anne of Green Gables Series by L.M. Montgomery
2)
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
3)

Guernsey. Malcolm's journey is more tortuous: conceived in Guernsey,
he travels to Canada as a baby with his bereaved mother. Many years
later he arrives in India, and from here he is led back to Guernsey
to open a health centre at La Folie. This was his father's home,
where Malcolm was conceived, but never lived and where his father was
killed at the start of the Second World War.
At
the heart of the two deaths lie stolen jewels. Valuable enough to
kill for. Twice.
Finding
her father brings Louisa more than she bargains for, and her life is
transformed, while Malcolm learns that life is, after all, for
sharing…
